The Grind Coffee House, located at 122 Pembroke Street West in downtown Pembroke, Ontario, is a trendy café that offers hot/cold beverages and donated treats to community members who seek a place to relax, contemplate and socialize. The facility provides a friendly, supervised and safe social environment for all who enter its doors. Our volunteers and staff build trust among patrons and direct those who request help to the Grind’s Client Services Office next door. The facility is open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 daily, Monday – Friday. Services are free but donations are welcome.

During 2017 & 2018, the Coffee House hosted 18,842 patrons and served 16,980 cups of coffee! During 2019, the number of patron visits rose to 12,105.

The Coffee House also serves as a meeting place after normal operating hours for activities organized to provide additional enjoyment and socialization.

The Grind Pembroke is a Christian-focussed organization that is non-denominational, inclusive and respectful of those who come from different social and faith traditions.

For those who need supportive faith-based support, The Grind offers a weekly Worship Service on Sunday evenings conducted by guest pastors from various churches in the region. Our in-house pastor, who also sits on our Board of Directors, provides faith counselling during the week by appointment.

During 2018, 584 people attended the Sunday Worship Services. This number rose to 730 attendees in 2019. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, 2020, the Coffee House has been closed, but now hosts a temporary Community Kitchen that prepares and serves take-out meals.
