The Grind’s Client Services Office, located at 126 Pembroke Street West, in downtown Pembroke, Ontario, is a “bridge from despair to hope”. The office is the coordinating hub for all service and administrative activities of The Grind Pembroke. Opened in the early summer of 2017, the office provides information on available community supports to meet a variety of needs and issues.

In addition, through a partnership with key health and social service agencies, professional Outreach Navigators work with College placement students from Algonquin College’s Social Service Worker Program to assess the needs of clients who request assistance and then to direct them to the most appropriate community supports. The services are short-term and non-clinical in nature. We are able to help those who recognize they need help and who are willing to accept it and follow through with referrals.

The Client Services Office also provides community agencies with free, confidential counselling space if they prefer to see their clients in a central, downtown Pembroke location. Two small counselling rooms are available for this purpose.

Between January, 2017, and December 2018, the Client Services Office received over 2,046 enquiries on issues ranging from homelessness and lack of food & clothing to health-related crises & general housing-related concerns. In 2019, 723 clients were assisted.
