WHO WE ARE
The Grind Pembroke is a faith-based, non-denominational and inclusive organization. We are a non-profit, inter-denominational organization that demonstrates the love of Jesus “one cup, one smile, and one bed at a time”. We are more than coffee — we are community.
We strive to be an agent of change in the community through our Coffee House, Community Kitchen, Outreach Ministry, Shelter Services including Transition House (a temporary assisted independent living option for homeless men who are health or social agency clients working on a life-stabilization plan), Client Services Office, and Youth Services recreational programs for children challenged by autism and other developmental issues.
HOW WE ARE GOVERNED
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members are selected for their demonstrated concerns for community members and for the skill-sets they bring to the efficient functioning of the organization.
We are administered by a volunteer Executive Director who serves as a board member while providing oversight on behalf of the Board. Volunteers carry out a variety of administrative functions including data collection, record keeping, finance, event planning, volunteer recruitment and assisting clients in meeting their needs.
