WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
We strive to be an agent of change in the community by serving the needs of marginalized, at-risk community members in Pembroke, Ontario, and Area.
Poverty and justice are near to God’s heart. Caring and loving those in need are a direct expression of our faith.
“Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:40)
Through our ministry we strive to:
-
- Advocate – we are a VOICE in the community for those in need;
- Transform – we inspire HOPE through intentional, life-giving relationships;
- Love – we share the Heart of Jesus through grace, compassion and mercy.
HOW WE ARE GOVERNED
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members are selected for their demonstrated concerns for community members and for the skill-sets they bring to the efficient functioning of the organization.
We are administered by a volunteer Executive Director who provides administrative oversight of Grind operations and ensures that the policies of the Board of Directors and the organization’s mission are fulfilled. The Executive Director is supported by staff and volunteers who are responsible for a variety of administrative functions including data collection, record keeping, finance, event planning, volunteer recruitment, scheduling and assisting clients in meeting their needs, and meal preparation and service.
